Join Our Lunch Book Club!
Who: 4th and 5th graders may join
What: A book club which will compete in the Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl
When: One day a week after school.
Where: In the media center/library
Why: This club is for students who LOVE a good story and are excellent readers!
Your assignment is to read these books over a two-week period. Set your own pace to be able to reach the goal of completing the book in two weeks or sooner. You may choose to read a few chapters a night or more. We will meet once a week to discuss the book.
You will need to keep a reading/writing journal. In this journal, you will record notes about each book and ten quiz questions (with the page number where the answer is found). These questions will be used to quiz your peers in order to prepare for the competition. We will also play Kahoot to test our knowledge of these books.
Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl Competition in January – Date TBA
