Our digital citizenship lessons are going well and will continue into October! Digital citizenship is curriculum that is taught at the beginning of the year by the METI (media specialist) and reinforced by the teachers. Each lesson focuses on using the internet in a safe way. We discuss topics such as online manners, protecting yourself by keeping information private, cheating/copyright, a student’s digital footprint, and even self-image and how websites will market to children. Each lesson is different considering the age of the student. In this technological age we want to make sure everyone stays safe when navigating the internet. For more information about how to help your child stay safe online, please visit the Common Sense Education website: https://www.commonsensemedia.org/parent-concerns
