It’s that time again! At the beginning of each year Ison Springs Elementary focuses on teaching our students about digital citizenship. Digital Citizenship lessons emphasis the importance of being safe and kind when going online. Below is a link to some videos for parents about digital citizenship. You can also visit the Ison Media Center website and click the Digital Citizenship tab for more information.

The students have been so excited to start book checkouts this year! We have gone over the procedures and played some fun games. The younger grades went on a library walkabout, middle ones did a scavenger hunt, and the older ones played Kahoot quizzes with call numbers. Wow! It has been a fun filled first month.
Procedures: Please keep all checked out books in a safe place at home. Kindergarten and 1st grade checkout one book at a time. 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5thgrades can checkout two books at a time. All books that are lost or damaged are to be paid for by the parents or guardian. Summer is just around the corner and the public library has lots of fun activities planned. First, don’t forget to pick up your free library card. You can check out lots of books to enjoy during those long vacation car rides. The Fulton County Public Libraries are starting their reading program June 1st! It’s easy to get some fun prizes for reading during the summer! Just register on the website linked below.

The third grade had fun learning about fractured fairy tales. They made their own on the iPad app Toontastic! Such Fun!
The kindergarten loved learning about St. Patrick's Day traditions by reading books and looking on the internet. We then colored by numbers and made our own leprechaun picture.
PS- Bedtime Stories was super fun! Remember it happens every month and the kids love to come and hear books read by their teachers. They can wear their PJs and bring a blanket. Look for info on Class Dojo. Ms. Correa does a wonderful job! 2nd grade is learning how to use the online encyclopedia. They can use all kinds of resources for research!
